The holidays are an important time of year to give thanks for what we’ve been blessed with and find joy in giving to others instead of focusing on ourselves. One of the things we are most proud of is the compassion and empathy that our employees bring to our mission of philanthropy year round. We believe in giving back to the community, taking up the cause, and doing all that we can to support our friends and neighbors. Today we’re taking a look back at our fall philanthropy.
One of our most passionate causes is the fight against childhood cancer. The Thumbs Up For Lane Goodwin Foundation is on a mission to “support childhood cancer research through funding and advocacy while empowering families battling childhood cancer by providing education, financial assistance and a volunteer network.”
The Thumbs Up Movement began in September of 2012 as a way to honor Lane Goodwin for the positive attitude he maintained during his 2½ year battle against Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Bringing awareness to the leading cause of death of children under 15 is a mission we also want to be on. For the second year in a row, Pioneer Plastics has joined the Thumbs Up movement with some very special September fundraising activities.
During the month we sponsored ‘dress up’ days for those who wanted to participate. We are very proud of the companywide participation throughout the month and had some really great laughs at some of the outfits! Here’s an idea of some of our dress up for cancer activities:
Of course we took pictures to document all the enthusiasm and of course we posted them on our Facebook page to share with our friends. Take look through our September posts and check out our employees in action!
Remember to give thanks and support a cause that is important to you this holiday season. Happy holidays from our team at Pioneer Plastics!
